Installing Anti4 on macOS
macOS doesn’t recognise us yet. Here’s how to open Anti4 the first time.
Opening it the first time
Drag Anti4 into your Applications folder, then open it once with the extra step below. After that it opens normally, like any other app.
- 1Open Applications in Finder and try to open Anti4.
- 2macOS shows a warning and refuses to open it. Close that dialog.
- 3Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll to the Security section, and choose Open Anyway next to the message about Anti4.
- 4Open Anti4 again and confirm. macOS remembers your choice from then on.

If you would rather not click through Settings, this removes the quarantine flag macOS puts on anything downloaded from the internet. Open Terminal, paste it, press Return:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Anti4.app
Run it after moving Anti4 into Applications. It affects this one app and nothing else.
Why macOS blocks it
macOS Gatekeeper only opens apps signed with an Apple Developer certificate. Anti4 is distributed independently and we have not bought that certificate yet, so macOS treats it as coming from a developer it cannot identify.
The warning is not a virus alert. macOS did not find anything wrong with the app — it simply has not been checked by Apple. The same warning appears for most independent Mac software. Both methods above tell macOS you trust this build, and it will not ask again.
Intel Macs
There is no Intel build yet — the download above is Apple Silicon only and will not run on an Intel Mac. If you are on Intel, the Windows build works under a virtual machine in the meantime.
Not on a Mac?
Download for Windows (.exe) · Windows installer (.msi). Windows shows a similar SmartScreen warning for the same reason — choose More info › Run anyway.
